I didn’t need a rock bottom. I just wanted a better life.

From Roubaix to Annecy, through depression and addiction, to a life built one action at a time.

Where it started

I was born in Roubaix, one of the poorest cities in France, and grew up in Annecy, a beautiful town by a lake. A normal childhood, with water always around: wakesurfing, boats, and later scuba diving and freediving.

When it got dark

Depression hit me as a teenager and came back more than once. For years I coped with alcohol, tobacco and nicotine vaping. They fixed nothing. They just kept me stuck. I have also been diagnosed with ADHD.

The first step, and where I am today

I started by getting support from mental health professionals, and it genuinely improved my quality of life. Today I’m sober. No dramatic turning point, no rock bottom: I simply wanted more from life. And I’m still fighting depression, one action at a time.
